QS.INTERPOLATE.BILINEAR¶
Interpolates aligned x/y/value ranges over rectangular or sparse slices
Category: QuantSupport - Math.
- QS.INTERPOLATE.BILINEAR(point_x: number, point_y: number, x_coordinates: cell or range, y_coordinates: cell or range, values: cell or range, extrapolation: text or blank) number¶
- Parameters:
point_x (number) – Finite numeric query coordinate on the corresponding axis
point_y (number) – Finite numeric query coordinate on the corresponding axis
x_coordinates (cell or range) – Required finite numeric coordinate range aligned point-by-point with values in row-major order; all ranges must have the same nonzero cell count; input order may be arbitrary; duplicate full coordinate tuples are rejected
y_coordinates (cell or range) – Required finite numeric coordinate range aligned point-by-point with values in row-major order; all ranges must have the same nonzero cell count; input order may be arbitrary; duplicate full coordinate tuples are rejected
values (cell or range) – Required finite numeric point values aligned with every coordinate range; blanks, text, and booleans are rejected; rectangular grids, sparse slices, and singleton axes are supported
extrapolation (text or blank) – Optional Reject or Flat; omitted, blank, or empty text defaults to Reject; Flat clamps each axis within each native slice, including singleton axes
- Returns:
Finite numeric value interpolated along y within each x slice, then along x. Supports rectangular or sparse point ranges and singleton axes; no grid completion or output spill is performed.
- Return Type:
number
- Errors:
#VALUE! for an unknown extrapolation policy, empty or mismatched coordinate/value ranges, blank/text/boolean/nonfinite range cells or queries, duplicate coordinate tuples, a query outside any required slice under Reject, or a nonfinite result.
